Apple has an event scheduled for Tuesday, September 15. The event is expected to be for the unveiling of new Apple Watches, including a more affordable variant that has been unofficially dubbed the Apple Watch SE. Now, Apple leaker Jon Prosser has revealed some key details about this affordable Apple Watch.
According to tweets posted yesterday, the Apple Watch SE will be available in two sizes, 40mm and 44m, with each size coming in GPS and cell phone variants. The tweets also include the code names for each size and variant.

Design-wise, the Apple Watch SE will resemble the Apple Watch Series 4. However, it won’t have an always-on display and an ECG, which shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Apple is trying to keep the price down. He also claimed that the watch will come with an M9 chip.
Apple’s M series of chips is a line of motion coprocessors that used to be separate chips for older iPhones, but have now been integrated into the main processor. The M9 chip was integrated with the A9 chip for the iPhone 6s and allows for step tracking, including changes in distance and elevation. It also allowed “Hey Siri” to always be on.
There’s no word on the Apple Watch SE pricing yet, but we’re guessing it can start at $ 199.
