The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with four rear cameras. The main sensor is a 108MP camera, and among the other three is a Time of Flight (ToF) camera. For the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung will take a different direction.
We already know that the flagship phone, which has been reported to be launched on January 14, will have four rear cameras, thanks to an early look at its design. Popular leaker Ice Universe has revealed that there is no ToF camera in the setup.
In a tweet posted a few days ago, he revealed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with an ISOCELL HM3 sensor. The 108MP camera will have a pixel size of 0.8 µm and the setup will have a laser focus module. However, there will be no ToF sensor.
Galaxy S21 Ultra is a little improved version of S20 Ultra. Using HM3 sensor, single pixel is still 0.8um, 108MP, laser focus, no ToF.

The ToF sensor on the Galaxy S20 Ultra is a 0.3MP sensor with an aperture of f / 1.0. Your job is to help with depth details when taking portrait photos or recording live focus video. If Samsung is taking it away from the S21 Ultra, it’s safe to say that it has another way of capturing depth of field details.
However, the phone still has four rear cameras and we know that in addition to the main 108MP camera, there will also be an ultra-wide angle camera and a periscope telephoto camera. Our guess is that the fourth sensor is another telephoto camera.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra launches early next year alongside the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus. It will have a centered drill hole and will be powered by the Snapdragon 875 processor or the Exynos 2100 processor depending on the market.
