José Mourinho took aim at Manchester United again after Tottenham Hotspur’s dramatic draw with Newcastle United.

The former United boss had already targeted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier in the day when he referenced the number of penalties the Reds have recently won.

That came after Solskjaer joked that he was glad Mourinho missed United’s game against Brighton due to the Seagulls hitting the wood five times, a reference to the fact that Mourinho had changed the goal posts earlier. Spurs’ draw in the Europa League with Shkendija.

However, before the meeting of the two sides next weekend, Mourinho could not turn down another offensive against the Reds.

The Spurs conceded a controversial late penalty against Newcastle when it was determined that Eric Dier had handled the ball in the area, with a lengthy VAR deliberation process sparking much debate.

A clearly irate Mourinho stormed down the tunnel before the final whistle, meaning the drama that followed was missed, with the Spurs players surrounding the referee.

Goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos received a red card and, asked after the game, Mourinho said that his coach was more naive than he.

However, he also referenced the fact that VAR awarded United a penalty after the final whistle sounded in their latest win over Brighton.

He told football.london: “All I know is that I have more experience than him and I went down the tunnel when the referee blew the whistle for the last time.

“I know that in some matches in some clubs, even after the last whistle, something important might happen, but for us I knew that after the last whistle we were finished and I went to the dressing room.

“So Nuno is a bit more naive than me and stays there.”
