Rogue Company has been available in early access closed beta for a while, and since then many people have been wondering: Is Rogue Company free to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC? Well, for those of you who have been waiting to play the game at no cost, we have some fantastic news for you when the game enters its open beta.
As a competitive multiplayer title with some great characters, the closed beta from two months ago received 500 million and more downloads. This gives credit to the game being remarkably popular, and the good news is that even more people can and probably are jumping on the bandwagon now.
Rogue Company is free to play now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and this is because it has entered its open beta. This means that you no longer have to pay to play, although according to the PSN store, you can still purchase the Starter, Standard, and Ultimate Founder packages.
In addition to being a free game, the developers have also announced a new character named Dahlia. She is a master of small squad tactics, and is said to be a well-rounded character who excels at pairing up with another player on the team.
There is also the latest map called Lockdown that came through the Desert Rose update. This is said to be a prison built to contain the world’s most dangerous criminals, and is supposedly the perfect setting for a high-risk mission.
Rogue Company is now free to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Original story:
Rogue Company has entered its closed beta and pays on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. This means that you can play the game for a price from now on, but a lot of people ask when and if Rogue Company will be able to play for free at a later date, similar to other multiplayer shooter games.
As a multiplayer shooter, Rogue Company has the following 4v4 modes: Demolition, Strikeout, and Extraction. It’s a cap-over-the-shoulder shooter with some really cool characters and designs, and there are versions you can buy right now to start playing and get some bonuses.
However, if you are waiting for it to become free to play, you will need to wait until a later date to start playing at no cost.
Rogue Company closed beta pricing
There is no single price for the Rogue Company, as there are multiple versions available to purchase.
However, regardless of price, each version of Rogue Company will provide you with access to the closed beta.
You can find the different rates for each pack below (via the Epic Games store):
- Founder’s Basic Package – £ 11.99
- Standard Founder’s Pack – £ 24.99
- Ultimate Founder’s Pack – £ 49.99
Again, each version comes with access to the closed beta, but the more you spend, the more bonuses you get.
For example, the Starter Pack comes with two additional playable rogues in Phantom and Chaac, while the Ultimate Pack comes with eight additional rogues.
Will Rogue Company be free to play?
Yes, Rogue Company will be free to play (to update: Rogue Company is now free to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.)
Rogue Company will be free to play at a later release date, but from now on you must purchase one of the Hi-Rez Studios bundles to join the closed beta.
The release date of when it won’t cost anything hasn’t been shared at the time of writing (July 22), but hopefully its full release date isn’t far off.
After all, a lot of people will be waiting for it to be free to play instead of buying one of the packs.
