If you’re like me, you have apps that you rarely or never use. You know, those apps you bought because someone said they were cool, but they weren’t. or maybe those games that you plan to finish “when you have time.”
I hear you.
I used to have a folder for apps that I didn’t want to clutter up my home screens. A graveyard, so to speak.
That was until IOS 14.
Must read: Here’s why your iPhone’s Lightning charging cable only works one way (and how to fix it)
iOS 14 now gives me the ability to hide entire pages of apps.
And it’s easy. Yes, I mean, you know how.
This is how you do it.
- Long press the home screen. You will know when enough time has passed because your icons start to shake.
- Between the icons and the Dock at the bottom, you’ll see a page indicator. Click on it to bring up the Edit Pages screen.
- Now just uncheck the pages you want to hide.
- Click Done and go.
Don’t worry, this doesn’t delete the apps (they will be available in the App Library), and you can get the pages back by repeating the process and checking the pages you want to display.
I have a screen for work-related apps that I hide when I don’t need them, and a screen for fun apps that I make visible when I want to relax. I think it’s a great way to strike a good balance between work and home (or should it be between home and work?).
What’s your preferred way of dealing with apps that you don’t use? Do you erase and forget about them, or do you keep them? Let me know!
