The Kaduna-born star looks forward to a chance to prove himself in the Gernot Rohr setup after settling in Norway.

Molde forward Leke James has expressed his desire to play for the Super Eagles and points to an invitation in the future.

James has excelled in the Norwegian Eliteserien and helped Molde win the top flight title last season with a contribution of 17 goals in 28 games.

He has started from where he left off last season with nine goals already to his name in the 2020 season.

James’ scoring has not gone unnoticed with Nigerian scouts monitoring his performances, yet the 28-year-old wants a chance to help Gernot Rohr’s team up front.

“I will be truly honored and happy if I get the call to represent my country,” said James. objective.

“It would be a great feeling, how many millions of people in Nigeria choose you. I think all the players will love playing for their country.

“It’s about the opportunity, I think I have something to add to the team if I am given the opportunity. I hope I have one because I know they are watching me, so I am working hard.

“Back then, I loved John Utaka. He’s one of my favorite players growing up.”

James is a fan of the Super Eagles as he awaits his inaugural invitation.

Ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifying game against Sierra Leone on Friday, he left some advice for Gernot Rohr’s men.

“I think they are trying to build something. Everyone should be on top of their game, I mean all departments and they should try to give it their all,” he added.

“The technical team must have studied the Sierra Leone team little and the tactical aspect is up to them to decide the game plan. The games should go well because we have quality players.”
