Players must be excited about the next Beyond the light expansion for Destination 2. The new trailer for “Europe” is ranked # 6 in the Trending section of YouTube. And I guess I find myself among them, finally once again excited about the game and ready to turn it back on.
I’ve been on a long hiatus since Destiny 2“Paul Tassi has that groove pretty well covered after all, but I’m looking forward to diving back in when Beyond Light lands on November 10th. I should probably go up earlier, as I’m sure I’m pretty rusty and sadly overdue (though that won’t matter much once Beyond Light is available).
While I don’t have a copy of Destiny 2 On Xbox, I will be able to download it on the first day on my Xbox Series X for free thanks to my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. I currently play on PC, but maybe I’ll switch to Xbox full-time and avoid paying for expansion. It seems like a financially sound decision, although you would have to give up the keyboard and mouse. Decisions decisions.
In fact, Destiny 2 so much with him Abandoned and Shadowkeep just released on Game Pass today, which should give the Xbox community a good boost. (Too Destiny 2 although it is not cross game). Beyond the light joins Game Pass at launch. I think I’ll download it to my Xbox One X right now.
The new trailer is definitely the kind that gets you excited about the expansion. Europa is one of the 79 moons of Jupiter and, depending on the advance, in a typical Destination speak, it could hold the key … to things … that occur in history. Important things. The kind of important things that are crucial to stopping Ancient Evils and saving the universe. Or something.
I have a hard time worrying so much about Destiny 2 story, if I’m honest, simply because it’s one of those games where you constantly face an existential threat to humanity, but quickly get over whatever it is and then proceed to do a bunch of Strikes or take a shoot at the new Raid. or just spend some time in the Crucible or play Gambit. The story can be as opaque or absurd as Bungie would like, and it usually is, because everything is secondary to the game loop. To the routine. To shootings and looting.
In any case, here is the trailer that shows Europa, the source of the new dark powers that come to Destiny 2 lessons:
It’s not bad at all. It’s not bad at all.
