Hulu’s Android TV app just added better voice controls

Hulu’s history with Android TV is full of overdue updates, but recently the service has improved on this. In the last few days, a new version of Hulu was released for Android TV that adds support for voice controls.

Available now on the Google Play Store, Hulu for Android TV version 3.8.26 has a key addition: voice control support.

Hulu says that the voice controls in its app can allow users to go forward, backward, or even skip episodes with a simple voice command. In a quick test of the functionality, I was able to quickly confirm that these are Google Assistant commands and they work flawlessly. I don’t even need to say “quick four minutes on Hulu. “The wizard recognizes the context and takes action accordingly. Especially for skipping episodes, this could be useful because frankly Hulu’s user interface can still be annoying to work with even after the recent review.

New in 3.8.26:

– In this latest update, we have added voice support for various playback controls, including fast forward, rewind, and the previous or next episode. Make sure to update your Hulu app and get back to streaming!

This update is now available to all Android TV users with access to the Hulu app.
