If there’s one thing in Mafia Definitive Edition that’s likely to frustrate gamers more than anyone else, it’s trying to win the race mission. This mission is famous for its difficulty, which literally distracts many players.
The race mission is the fifth mission in the game, titled “Fair Play.” It is infamous for its difficulty, and it has been the reason many people have completely given up on Mafia.
The remake tries to make the race feel at least a little fairer, but it’s still a real challenge to overcome, making the Mafia Definitive Edition that much more frustrating than it should be.
How to win the race mission in Mafia Definitive Edition
To win the race in Mafia (and Defintive Edition), you must control your speed. Don’t go too fast at first, even if you think a section is relatively safe, as tackling a curve while going too fast is the biggest mistake you can make.
The first few corners of the track are relatively easy and can be accomplished simply by releasing the accelerator for a second; however, later corners will require the brakes if you want to handle your sharp turns.
Keep in mind that all other cars will be faster than you from the start; it is best to wait until they have dispersed before passing them one by one.
Can you skip the race mission in Mafia Definitive Edition?
You cannot skip the race mission in Mafia or Mafia Defintive Edition. For years, mob fans have waited for a way to skip the career mission altogether, but this is not possible.
The only way to overcome the mission is to win the race. The only way to do this is to play it over and over again until you have memorized the course and learned all of its aspects.
While this is a frustrating experience, winning the race and completing the Fairplay mission can be one of the most satisfying achievements of Mafia Definitive Edition, if you ever do.
