The planned Lizzie mcguire revival is officially dead on Disney Plus.
Series star Hilary Duff made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday, saying, “I was so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life.”
“I know efforts and conversations have been everywhere to make the reboot work, but sadly, and despite everyone’s best efforts, it is not going to happen,” he continued.
“I want any Lizzie reboot to be honest and authentic to what Lizzie would be like today. It’s what the character deserves.”

The revival of the popular Disney Channel show had been in the works on Disney Plus since 2019, but production was halted earlier in the year when Lizzie mcguire Revival creator and showrunner Terri Minsky was removed from that role on the show.
