Our first look at next year’s OnePlus 9 is here. Apparently to confirm last month’s news that the OnePlus 9 would arrive earlier than usual in March, the first leaked renders based on early CAD are starting to land, showing off a familiar design, slightly larger screen, a perforated front camera. and a three-camera setup at the rear.
The renders, courtesy of 91mobiles, don’t show too many angles or details, but they do give us a clear picture of the front and back. Since they are CAD based, take materials and colors with a grain of salt, but the overall design must be accurate. On the front, you can see the punch hole camera cutout in the upper left corner, just like the OnePlus 8T above, in the same kind of ‘full screen’ layout. The OnePlus 9 also has a larger 6.65 “screen according to this latest leak, only slightly larger than the 6.55” screen on the OnePlus 8T. Interestingly, a headset is not visible on these versions, but that detail may just be missing at this early date.
The power button and the alert slider are close to their usual positions on the right side, with the volume buttons on the left. However, on the back there is a new three-camera design that looks like a cross between the iPhone and the Galaxy S20. All three cameras are vertically aligned, with two larger sensor / lens assemblies positioned on top of a smaller one. The flash is set right to a configuration that resembles the iPhone 11 or iPhone 12 camera layout. Notably, this is one camera less than some previous leaks indicated, and one less than the 8T.
The rumored specs for the phone, published by 91mobiles, disagree with themselves in some locations (such as chipset and camera number), but the phone is supposed to include the upcoming Snapdragon 875, a 120Hz display, and a battery of 5,000mAh that recharges in OnePlus’ new 65W charging speed.
Now that CADs are on the loose, expect this trickle of detail to become a howl in the coming weeks and months, first as leaks mount and then as OnePlus fake viral marketing accelerates ahead of a formal launch. .
