Microsoft has released a new ad for Xbox Series X, directed by filmmaker Taika Waititi, which is inspired by the console’s “Power Your Dreams” tagline.
The short film is titled ‘Lucid Odyssey’ and stars streamer Krystal Holmes, also known as MoonLiteWolf, playing an Xbox Series X before being taken into a dream state. Soon, she begins to see neon outlined rabbits and whales hovering above her, before she begins to fly and float as well.
Things get weirder when you head into space and find yourself auraMaster Chief DJing. He then takes off his helmet, which has never happened before in games, to reveal that he was a cat the entire time, and ends with the feline Master Chief dancing to the beat.

According to Microsoft, the short film was based on the real dreams Holmes had after playing Xbox Series X. The Xbox team used a method known as Targeted Dream Incubation, which put Holmes in a hypnagogic state to recall his dreams, to record your dreams.
‘Lucid Odyssey’ is one of two instances where Microsoft used Targeted Dream Incubation to promote their consoles, the other is a collaboration with NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham’s dreams were recorded and used to design Nike shoes Custom Air Force 1 and Xbox Wireless Controllers.
