Apple’s new line begins rolling out on October 23. The latest model of the company’s mobile phone is a bit different from its previous versions. For example, this will be the first iPhone to come with 5G.
Another different thing about this Apple launch: it is the first flagship iPhone to be launched amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Due to COVID-19, the launch of this iPhone will look a little different, especially if you plan to pick up your device from the Apple Store. Here’s what to expect on the day of the iPhone 12 launch.
If you are planning to buy a new iPhone, it would probably be a safe bet now. The big iPhone 12 was already delayed this year due to coronavirus-related production issues. The event was delayed a month from its usual date in September. Now, just two days after pre-orders for the iPhone 12 opened, there are reports that the device is selling out.
Long lines have become a staple outside of Apple stores in the iPhone launch days. In 2020, Apple is looking to mitigate that by requiring appointments at many of its stores.
The at each Apple Store will be different, depending on the local coronavirus ordinances in your area. Apple offers a curbside pickup service where an Apple Store employee will bring your product to your car. Of course, you can avoid going out at all by scheduling your new iPhone 12 to your doorstep through the option.
Some Apple Store locations compared to his last pre-pandemic visit. The company has rolled out Apple Express storefronts, which basically look like a bank teller window. These designs have product displays with Apple Store employees waiting to help you from behind a Plexiglass counter. Like, the first of these stores opened in September, in Burlingame, California. Since then, more have been rolled out in several new Apple stores around the world.
If you want to do some shopping at the Apple store while you’re there, you may need to do it first. Masks and a temperature control will also be required to enter the store.
But, before you go out, you need to check if it is open and serving customers. Apple is one of the few companies with brick-and-mortar stores that it will close, then based on increases in COVID-19 cases in certain regions. They are open as of October 18, you still need to make sure yours is one of them.
