Harrison ford is spreading the word about the great need for volunteers in coronavirus vaccine trials.

In a YouTube public service announcement titled “My Reason,” Americans of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and professions revealed why they decided to participate in vaccine research. The reasons ranged from a nurse who wanted to do more for the medical community to a grocery store worker who wanted people to be able to get their food safely.

Finding a safe and effective vaccine is one of the ways experts say will end the pandemic, which has claimed more than 200,000 lives in the United States and affected millions of people. Ford narrates the public service announcement, which was produced by the CEO of Skydance Media. David ellison.

While nearly 500,000 people have already volunteered, many more are needed.

“We need to register a million more volunteers to complete the studies that will possibly provide a safe and effective vaccine to hundreds of millions of Americans,” Ford explained on the PSA. “The vaccine trial needs millions of Americans of all races, places, and medical conditions to assist in one of the most important endeavors of our lives.”
