Legend has it that ghosts and spirits are most active on Halloween, but these demonic entities aren’t the only ones that will appear on October 31 – a rare blue moon will emerge on the same day.

The idea of a blue moon as the second full moon in a month came from an article in the March 1946 issue of Sky and Telescope magazine.
This number was published by James Higgins Pruitt in an article titled Once in a Blue Moon, which cites the Major Farmers Almanac of 1937, but with a simple definition.
