Google revealed an entertaining new way to use its search feature to find songs – all you have to do is play the tune.

The search giant launched this feature last week as a way for people to track songs that don’t know their name.

You can hum, whistle or sing the song through the company’s search app and it will recognize it. If you have an Android phone, you can also use the Google Assistant to do the same.

Metro had tested it ourselves and even though we didn’t have to pay, Google chose it.

On your mobile device, open the latest version of the Google app or search Google search, tap the microphone icon, and say “What is this song?” Or click the “Find a song” button, Google explained.

Then it starts buzzing for 10-15 seconds. In the Google Assistant, it’s that simple. Say: “Ok Google, what song is this?” Then hum the tune. This feature is currently available in English on iOS and in more than 20 languages on Android. We hope to expand this to include more languages in the future.

The search giant continued: “After the buzz is over, our machine learning algorithm helps identify possible matching songs. And don’t worry, you don’t need a perfect presentation to use this feature. We will show you the most likely options based on the melody.

You can then select the best combination and explore information about the song and the artist, watch the accompanying music videos or listen to the song in your favorite music app, search for lyrics, read reviews, and even view other recordings of the song when they are. available.
