Mobile wallet service provider Paytm announced on Friday that its Android mobile app has been temporarily removed from the Google Play Store. The company assured its users that their account balances are 100% safe and that their services are fully functional.
Paytm reported that it recently launched “Paytm Cricket League” on its consumer app to get users interested in the sport while getting a refund.
“The game allows users to obtain player stickers after each transaction, collect them and receive Paytm Cashback. “
Unfortunately, Paytm received a communication from Google that the internet giant suspended the Paytm app because it believed the game was in violation of its Play Store policies regarding the game. This meant that the Paytm app for Android was not listed in the Google Play Store and was temporarily unavailable to users for new downloads or updates.
“While it is clear that all activities on Paytm are completely legal, we have temporarily removed the refund component in an effort to comply with the requirements of the Play Store policy. We continue to work with Google to restore the application. We assure all our users that their balances and linked accounts are 100% safe. Our services are fully functional in all existing applications and you can continue to enjoy Paytm as before. “
Fortunately, Paytm updated users a few hours after their mobile app functions were restored.
