Google’s Pixel 5 is the company’s most affordable flagship yet. Starting at just £ 599, the device can be reserved in Europe, the US and other regions before sale. However, it appears that the device is already out of stock on the Google Store in key European markets.
First reported by 9to5Google (via XDADevelopers), Google Pixel 5 pre-orders are out of stock in countries like UK, France, Germany, and Ireland. After a slow start in Germany and Ireland it reportedly picked up momentum and is now sold out on both the “Sorta Sage” and “Just Black” variants. In contrast, France only gets the “Just Black” variant. It is said that the reason for this is the laws of the country that require including headphones inside the box. Therefore, to avoid packaging in different colors, Google apparently decided to limit the colors for France.
However, for the UK, Google is offering a great deal on free Bose QC 35 II headphones if you buy a Pixel 4a (5G) or Pixel 5 between September 30 and October 19 from their store. Reasons like offers, exchange rates, attractive prices from Google could be the reason for the thunderous response.
Google released the Pixel 5 alongside 4a 5G a few days ago. But it will be available only a couple of weeks after launch in many regions. Users can purchase the device from October 15 if they are in Australia, the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, and Taiwan. However, people in the US and Canada will see it a couple of weeks later, on October 29 to be precise. And it’s still available for pre-order in the US, unlike other markets.
That said, Google has reportedly kept its goal low for the Pixel 5 in 2020 for a number of reasons. However, the new lawsuit could change Google’s plans. But there’s no idea when Google Store pre-orders will resume. However, if you live in any of these countries, you can try your luck at shipping partners and retail stores to get it early.
