We saw the Google Pixel 5 listed at various retailers in both the UK and continental Europe yesterday, ahead of the phone’s official presentation on September 30. Today, from Germany comes a leak of full specifications of the next device.

Let’s dive in. As rumored countless times before, the Pixel 5 will work with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset, and not the flagship-quality Snapdragon 865 or 865+. This means lower performance, but also a lack of support for mmWave 5G; only Sub-6 networks will work.

The display will be a 6-inch 1080×2340 OLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR support, covered with Gorilla Glass 6. The fingerprint sensor is still on the back of the phone and not under the screen.

Surprisingly to Google, as this has never been done before, the Pixel 5 will ship with 8GB of RAM. The base model has 128GB of internal storage.

At the rear we have two cameras, a 12.2 MP f / 1.7 main sensor with dual-pixel PDAF and a 1.4um pixel size, with OIS and EIS. It has a 77 degree field of view. In addition, there is also an ultra-wide camera, with a 16 MP sensor, a field of view of 107 degrees, an aperture of f / 2.2, and a pixel size of 1.0um. At the front, on the hole punch, there is an 8 MP camera with f / 2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size and 83-degree field of view. The main camera does 4K video at 60fps, 1080p at 240fps, while selfie videos will max out at 1080p30.

The battery is 4,080 mAh in size and is charged through an 18W block. Wireless charging is also supported, as well as reverse wireless charging. The Pixel 5 has stereo speakers, spectral and flicker sensors, three microphones, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE, and of course 5G. There is only one SIM slot, but dual SIM functionality can be achieved through eSIM.

IP68 water and dust resistance is certified and the frame is 100% recycled aluminum. The phone will run Android 11 from day one, and in some countries it ships with a wired headset in the box. It will be available in green and black, weighs 151g and is 8mm thick. It will start at € 629 in the euro zone. Given the past antics of American companies on this matter, expect the American price to be $ 599 to $ 629.
