(Pocket-lint): Google is limiting some features to Google One subscribers, which means you would need a paid Google One membership to access them.
The company is adding a new pop color feature to the Google Photos app that its users can apply to any photo, not just photos with depth information. But you will need to subscribe to the Google One service pack before you can use color pop. The feature is now reportedly rolling out to all Photos users.
Google told Engadget that pop color will remain free for photos with depth information, such as portrait mode. “As part of an ongoing rollout that began earlier this year, Google One members can apply the feature to more photos of people, including those without detailed information,” he said.
Note that prior to this latest app update, Google Photos tools were completely free. It marks a change for the application and perhaps indicates big changes in the future.
