NEW DELHI: google maps Now you can tell how busy a restaurant or any other place of business is before you get there directly at the map view, according to a report by 9to5Google. The ‘hustle’ indicators would be directly visible on the map, Google announced during their Search On event.
According to the report, Google Maps will place the “Busier than usual” and “As busy as it gets” indicators directly below the names of locations in the area you are in. Seeing that a certain restaurant or store in the area is busy should allow you to plan your visit more judiciously. The tech giant showed this in a demo.
Also, if you are navigating to a particular location, the Maps application in Android and iOS will tell you how busy the place is, with occupancy indicators for new locations that Google reportedly promised “soon.”
The tech giant also announced some of the new features Google Search would get. New artificial intelligence tools have been implemented to improve spell recognition, passage recognition, understanding of subtopics of certain topics, understanding of key moments in video, etc.
Google has introduced a new spelling algorithm to improve the search engine’s understanding of misspelled words and therefore reduce errors. According to Google, the spelling algorithm uses a “deep neural network” to improve its recognition of incorrect spellings and also find the correct results within 3 milliseconds. The California-based software giant claims the new AI spelling update “improves spelling more than all of our improvements in the last five years.”
