San Francisco, September 13 (IANS) The Google Duo video calling app is now available for Android TV four years after the app appeared on the scene.
The search engine giant teased the app’s arrival earlier this week and said it will be available in beta for Android TV.
One can either head to the Google Play Store in the phone / PC browser and install the app remotely on the TV or “look for a direct installation through the Google market available on the Android TV platform,” reports 9To5Google.
However, once a user installs Duo on Android TV, the service stops working.
“The Duo will not be added to the home screen or app tray. The only way to open it would be through the Settings app or using the Sideload Launcher.”
For voice-only calls, you use the remote’s built-in microphone, but a user still can’t receive calls on Google Duo on an Android TV.
This is something that Google will solve in future versions of the application.
