Google Chromecast features leaked in first unboxing on Reddit, device launching September 30

Google’s new Chromecast device will launch on September 30. Before launch, the device features have been leaked again, giving users a more complex view of the dongle’s hardware and UI.

The leak is courtesy of Redditor, who was able to purchase the “Chromecast with Google TV” dongle without notice at a local Walmart.

The user also answered some questions about the device. According to the person, there is no Ethernet port on the device, but it supports 4K / HDR. The interface is branded Google TV, but u / fuzztub07 says it appears to be based on Android 10.

The device supports multiple user accounts and can also be paired with Bluetooth headsets.

According to the leak, the home screen shows a large amount of content to view, including content from applications that users have not installed. Additionally, the dongle is HDMI-CEC compliant, allowing you to control the TV it is connected to.

The apps listed include OTT services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, and YouTube TV, among others.

Another Reddit user also shared a hands-on video of the device, highlighting all angles of the Google Chromecast retail packaging.

The Chromecast brand is highly visible, but the product name is inconsistent in the video. From the front, the “Chromecast with Google TV” branding is clearly visible.

Based on what is seen at the bottom of the package, the purchase includes a power cord and adapter, Google Chromecast Voice Remote, and 2 AAA batteries.
