The number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths reported worldwide is declining, according to the World Health Organization.

Although many countries are still seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases and deaths, the WHO says that globally, there is a ray of hope with the pandemic.

New COVID-19 cases reported worldwide decreased for the fourth week in a row.

While reported deaths also decreased for the second week in a row.

Even the US, Brazil, France, Russia and the UK, which are among the countries with the most COVID-19 cases, reported declines.

Countries hope that COVID-19 vaccines will control the pandemic, but in some areas the launch of the vaccine has been slow and fraught with problems.

Some countries have already started their immunization programs, but about 130 countries have yet to deliver a vaccine, the WHO says.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also released a new report showing the benefits of better mask use.

Double masking and / or knotting the ear muffs of surgical masks to create a tighter fit can increase COVID-19 protection.
