Genshin Impact developer MiHoYo has teased some of the events players can look forward to alongside Hu Tao’s launch next week.
Genshin Impact Developer MiHoYo has announced that new in-game events will occur in conjunction with Hu Tao’s release next week. The studio finally announced yesterday that Hu Tao will be the next playable character to join the game’s roster. Fans of Genshin Impact I’ve been eagerly waiting for MiHoYo to confirm Hu Tao’s release during the game’s 1.3 update after various rumors and leaks about the character came out in the weeks leading up to and after the update’s release.
The game’s ongoing 1.3 update began nearly a month ago with the launch of Xiao and the launch of the Lantern Rite Festival event. But unlike previous updates, which saw the release of several new characters, Xiao was the only new character announced for the patch prior to its release earlier this month. Despite this, fans were still hoping that MiHoYo would eventually release another new character before the end of update 1.3. The studio finally confirmed this just before the patch’s release, but didn’t reveal which character would be added to the game until yesterday.

MyHoYo announced the new events for the next phase of Update 1.3 in the Genshin impact Twitter account, showing a preview of some of the things players can look forward to for the rest of the update’s life. First of all, the studio finally revealed the banner where players can attempt to summon Hu Tao, called “Moment of Bloom,” which will also include three 4-star characters already available, namely Chongyun, Xingqui, and Xiangling. As with all featured character posters, players will be able to test Hu Tao as well as two of the other characters on the poster in the character test event.

Hu Tao’s story mission, called “Papilio Charontis”, was also announced for release alongside the character, giving players the opportunity to learn more about the new Pyro user. Players will also have the chance to win Primogems and other rewards with the new expedition event “Vishaps and Where to Find Them”, whose name is obviously a play in the movie series derived from the Harry Potter franchise.
