Generation Amazing, Qatar’s 2022 platform for solidarity development, has launched a partnership agreement with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which will deploy soccer-related activities and initiatives aimed at developing underserved communities in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America.
The launch of the agreement comes after a signing ceremony earlier this year, which featured the participation of senior officials from both parties led by Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee on Delivery and Legacy responsible for the management of projects related to Qatar 2022, Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, together with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
Under this agreement, the organizations will support young people at risk of exclusion and violence, as well as refugees in Iraq, Myanmar, Uganda and Argentina, with the aim of inspiring them, sharing basic life experiences that help them enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as reinforcing social integration efforts taking advantage of the popularity of football.
Activation of the agreement will officially begin next month, with the goal of helping thousands of young people improve their personal situations and offer meaningful community change. This agreement will represent a step forward for Generation Amazing in its efforts to achieve its goal of having a positive impact on the lives of more than a million people until 2022.
Improving the lives of risk-prone youth
For his part, Al Thawadi said: “We aspire to enhance our partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the largest humanitarian network in the world, as we seek to seize unique opportunities to deepen the principles that strengthen the popularity of soccer to improve the lives of vulnerable vulnerable youth ”.
“Generation Amazing has been able to create a long history in the last ten years, so we believe this partnership will broaden the spectrum of our program around the world, in addition to playing a very important role in highlighting the importance of sport in general, and football in particular “.
For his part, Jagan Chapagain said: “We are proud of this collaboration, and because we represent a part of this promising program, so we are eager to start making it happen. As stated in the agreement, perhaps the need to carry out programs like these has become more urgent, especially in the current circumstances due to the pandemic. “
