Samsung Electronics Co. is launching Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) with all the key features of its latest premium Galaxy S20 models and yet is priced below high-end so as not to lose the winning momentum after the iPhone 12 launch. from Apple next month.
The South Korean tech giant unveiled at a decompression event Thursday that the Galaxy S20 FE is priced at $ 699 despite all the high-end features of the premium S20 and S20 + series: a 120Hz AMOLED display and processor. 7nm 64-bit Octa-Core, a large 4,500mAh battery, as well as 5G connectivity. The Galaxy S20 FE is roughly $ 400 cheaper than Samsung Electronics’ premium flagship S20 series, which launched in February with a retail price of 1.25 million won ($ 1,060).
Market analysts suspect that Samsung Electronics is trying to improve its position in the smartphone market with more affordable but still powerful smartphone series ahead of Apple’s iPhone 12 series debut next month.
Samsung Electronics began taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S20 FE on Thursday. The official worldwide release is scheduled for October 2, with its Korean release coming in mid-October.
