Customers who purchase an iPhone 11 from Apple’s online store in India as part of the Diwali holiday shopping period will get an additional bonus, in the form of a free pair of AirPods.
Announced on Saturday a week before the offer takes place, customers who purchase an iPhone 11 from Apple’s online store covering India starting October 17 will get a free pair of AirPods as part of their order. A banner in the online Apple Store informs about the upcoming Diwali offer.
As reported by the Times of India, there are some terms and conditions that may apply and items Apple has yet to announce, such as when the offer period ends. It is also unknown if there will also be any price changes as part of the sales event.
Currently, the iPhone 11 is priced at Rs 68,300 ($ 936), or Rs 8,038 ($ 110) per month, with no trade-in and for the lower-priced model. The cost can be reduced to Rs 49,300 ($ 675), or Rs 5,802 ($ 79) per month, as part of an exchange. The AirPods offering will likely apply to purchases of the iPhone 11 Pro line as well, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Apple launched its online store for India on September 23, as part of its efforts to enter the burgeoning Indian market. Following recent changes in local commerce laws that prevented Apple from operating its own retail business, Apple has now moved into online retail on its own, with localized Apple specialists and exchange support.
Apple is expected to open its first brick and mortar flagship store in Mumbai in 2021.
