Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is rolling out, developer Epic Games announced. Originally, this season was slated for April 30, but will now run until June 4, when Season 3 of the Battle Royale game is slated to begin. This will give you plenty of time to complete challenges and even play additional content.
Now that Season 2 will run for several more weeks, Epic says there will be “a lot” of additional content in the game. “We have several game updates on the way that will offer new gameplay, new challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeve!” the developer joked in a blog post.
But it seems season 3 is already being teased with in-game posters uncovered in Lazy Lake. They focus on sharks and water content and apparently reference Season 3 directly in their files.
Chapter 2 – Season 2 has been extended. Much more is coming this season: cool gameplay, new challenges, XP bonus and more. Additional information here: https://t.co/H5Obesm3qf
This is certainly not the first time that Epic has extended a Fortnite season. Season 2 of Chapter 2 similarly spanned several weeks from its original end date of December 2019 to February 2020. During that additional time, the developer held numerous events in-game, including a preview of Star Wars. Episode IX and a cross event of Harley Quinn.
Season 2 has its own comic crossover. Battle Pass owners can unlock a Deadpool skin by removing some of this season’s Deadpool challenges. An alternate skinless Deadpool skin can also be unlocked by completing the Deadpool missions for Week 8, which ask you to find the Deadpool pool floating and dance at Deadpool’s Yacht party.
Season 2’s extension means you have more time to complete any weekly challenge that you may not have overcome this season. If you need help removing them, you can find all of our maps and guides in our full Fortnite Season 2 challenge roundup.
