Everything is festive in Fortnite right now with this year’s Christmas-themed event, Operation Snowdown, going live in-game. Many things are new to the game with this latest update, and many Christmas-themed features have retaliated this year.
The event began on the 18th of this month and will run until January 5. Players who log in before January 5 will receive a free Christmas carol emote.

However, the highlight of this event is the return of the planes. Epic had already released planes in the Season 7 update in 2018, as part of a winter-themed update for the game.
This is what the official announcement because the event says about airplanes.
“Against a battle-filled background, Snowmando has brought winter items from his pervasive past. Fly on Snowmando’s custom X-4 Stormwing planes, and on the ground, dress up as an ordinary snowman with Sneaky Snowmandos, cause cold weather with Chiller Grenades, and treat yourself to loot with Snowmando-wrapped gifts! “

But wait! Fortnite’s Operation Snowdown has so much more to offer!
An interesting addition to this year’s Operation Snowdown event is the Snowfish. These snow fish are basically floppers that heal a certain amount of HP and grant certain abilities. In a recent video, Fortnite streamer SypherPK showed how to get the snow gadgets and how to use them.
With the return of airplanes, the fan-favorite Air Royale has also returned to the game. On top of this, there is the new Shockwave LTM. The official announcement describes this as “Players compete to hit each other in the Storm (extra strong) while reducing to nothing“. Plus, Pickaxe Frenzy has arrived in LTM form for the first time!
