Here’s how to defeat Shadow Midas in Fortnite and win a free Smash O’-Lantern Pickaxe this Halloween!

Shadow Midas Challenge

Players are tasked with taking down Shadow Midas, the zombified version of the old spy boss.

Doing so will earn you one of the best rewards from this Halloween event, the Smash O’-Lantern collecting tool.

This is a free challenge for all players, whether or not they have purchased the Season 4 Battle Pass.

How to complete the Shadow Midas challenge

Head to the location formerly known as The Authority (formerly known as The Agency), now called The Ruins.

Shadow Midas can be found on the main floor or occasionally on the second floor of The Ruins.

Fortnite: Chapter Two Season Four – Slurp Bazooka and other new items to be revealed

You can head straight there and hope to get it out earlier than other players, or land higher and fight before descending.

You should have very little trouble defeating Shadow Midas on your own, as he is nothing compared to Doctor Doom or Iron Man.

The hardest part of this challenge will not be killing Midas, but surviving the dozens of other players and their Shadows, who are also trying to complete this challenge or are just landing in a popular spot.
