A former Liverpool teammate and Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has spoken out about his future in comments made by Diario Sport.
Mohamed Aboutrika, who played with Salah in Egypt, counts the Liverpool player as a friend and said he believes he will play his football in Spain next season.
Aboutrika was speaking to Bein Sport and following recent comments Salah made to Diario AS, where he left the door open for a possible transfer to La Liga.

“I called Salah to discuss his situation at Liverpool and he is disappointed, but that will not affect his performance on the pitch,” Aboutrika said.
“I know Salah is not happy at Liverpool. He told me the reasons, but it is a secret and I will not discuss it in public. One of the things that angered him was not being a captain against Midtjylland. “
Aboutrika was referring to the recent Champions League group stage match against the Danish team, in which coach Jurgen Klopp named Trent Alexander Arnold captain.
In addition to that factor of push, there is also the pull of Spain according to Aboutrika, especially by the power of the two big ones.
“If Salah were at Real Madrid or Barcelona and played at the same level as Liverpool, he would have won the Ballon d’Or.

“I have no influence on the decisions Salah makes, but he is my friend, my brother, and he is smart enough to know what the best thing to do is.”
Aboutrika is generally considered one of the greatest Egyptian footballers in history, representing his country more than 100 times and spending most of his career at Al Ahly in Cairo.
Salah, now 28, is in his prime. He has played most of his football at Anfield and Liverpool joined them in 2017. He has 13 goals in 13 appearances so far this season.
