Fan runs DOOM Eternal on Samsung Smart Cooler screen

You may run out of milk, but if you are a CONDEMN fanatic with a bit of tech savvy, at least you’ll never run out of demons to kill. Taking a game that takes you on fire to the most logical of quiet places, a fan has brought in Bethesda’s first-person demon shooter, and not the old version, but this year’s highly praised Eternal DOOM – to the video screen of your smart refrigerator.

A YouTuber calling himself “ChillinwithTwisted420” shows off his setup in the coolest way, starting his gameplay demo like it’s just another snippet session in a dark room, until, that is, his Doom Guy dies and it’s time to reload and reload. “Wait a second guys, let me have a drink here,” he jokes as the screen zooms away, like a secret Scooby Doo hatch, to reveal the well-stocked innards of a refrigerator. After catching a Sunkist, you’re ready for another round, all without taking a step.

Check it out below:

How is it possible to make the demons that jump to the planets do a fire dance in your refrigerator? It’s actually quite doable, at least compared to previous hacks that have managed to include some version of CONDEMN on everything from an ATM to a first-generation iPod, and even a home pregnancy test.

In the video above, our hacking hero harnesses the power of brand synergy, streaming the game stream from an app on your Samsung phone to your connected Samsung smart refrigerator. That’s possible in the first place thanks to Microsoft’s xCloud gaming service, which allows gamers to bookmark Eternal DOOM (and, as it continues to show with Battletoads, virtually any other game on the Xbox Game Pass service) on a large number of Android-based smart devices.

Hey, if you’re going to spend a few minutes standing in front of the fridge deciding what to eat anyway, you might as well kill some demons while debating whether you want deviled eggs. This is a setup that’s so convenient that we almost wish the fridge doors (and its smart screen space) were bigger … although it would be quite awkward to explain to visitors why we’ve left a chair right in front of our new favorite kitchen appliance.
