Gaga released a first-look photo on her Instagram that she’s serving up après-ski chic and I’ve never seen anything more glamorous in my life. Looks like a queen of the snow rabbits ruling the Italian Alps in a cozy fur hat and fancy jewelry. And don’t even get me started with Adam Driver and his matching knit turtleneck and matching white snowsuit. Even if the script and acting are terrible (which they obviously won’t be), I’d still see these two walking around Italy in their costumes for hours.

The cast is stacked.
Yes, you have Gaga and Driver, but let me tell you it just keeps getting better from there. Jared Letto plays Paolo Gucci (Maurizio Gucci’s cousin), Al Pacino plays Aldo Gucci (Paolo’s father), and Jeremy Irons plays Rodolfo Gucci (Marizio’s father). Camille Cottin will play Paola Franchi, the woman Maurizio lived with when he was murdered.
This movie has been in the works for 15 years.
The film’s director, Ridley Scott, has been working on directing a Gucci film since 2006. Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio were originally rumored to play the lead roles, according to Fashion. Since then, it has gone through tons of changes, with Penelope Cruz and Margot Robbie also being considered for leadership at different points. Robert De Niro was also in talks to join the film, but then dropped out last year.
It’s technically based on a book about this whole situation. That book is called “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Insanity, Glamor and Greed.”
Patrizia in real life just got out of jail a few years ago.
Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci had been married for 12 years when he left her for a younger woman in 1985. They officially divorced in 1991 and in 1995, she hired a hitman who shot Maurizio on the stairs outside her office. Patrizia was sentenced to 29 years in prison for orchestrating the murder, but she only turned 18 (thanks to her good behavior) and left in 2016.
The movie will be out this year.
