HEWANE – After walking long distances enduring rough terrain, the Ethiopian National Defense Forces reached Hewane, said Raya Front commander, General Bacha Debele, stressing that the Junta would be dismantled in two or three days.
General Bacha indicated that members of the ENDF on the Raya front have taken two routes. The first has advanced via Chifra to Chercher and then to Mekone while the other departed from Kobbo and marched to Alamata Kukuftu to Mekone.
“What the ENDF has endured has not been the junta’s offensives, but the mountainous terrain.”
The forces that marched in two directions have made Mekone their point of confluence.
The chain of mountains next to Mekone is really impressive for tourists. From a strategic military perspective, any force that occupied the mountainous terrain, if used correctly, ensures a better advantage, while those at the foot of the mountain must combine fire and rapid movement to propel the force that occupied the terrain by paying a halt first cost.
“We have paid the sacrifices and advanced rapidly crushing the forces of the Junta and have reached Hewane.
He also reveals a plan to advance by quickly controlling Mai Nebrid and Adi Gudom to seize Mekele. Timing is of the essence as the atrocious Junta has been destroying the cities and our Force has to rescue the city.
Major General Alemshet Degife, for his part, revealed that the junta’s militia and special forces are already dispersing.
