The Ethiopian Teachers Association said that the educational roadmap that is believed to bring comprehensive changes on the multiple challenges of the sector would be helpful in addressing the problems identified by the sector.
The main areas in which the roadmap focuses and prioritizes include improving educational policy, ensuring quality education, promoting the teaching-learning process through solving the challenges of teachers, among others.
The Association’s Secretary-General, Tilahun Tarekegn, mentioned the continuous path they have taken with regard to the preparation and improvement of the Educational Roadmap, and stated that the roadmap would play a fundamental role in improving the teaching profession which is the source of each discipline and the backbone of a number of sectors.
According to him, the roadmap would also allow the nation to overcome the problems facing quality education, which has puzzled the education sector for years.
He said that, once the document was distributed, the Association has prepared awareness and discussion meetings in order to incorporate the reflections of the states on the improvement of the roadmap.
Taking into account this opportunity, the states have sent their comments and opinions to continue improving the contents of the educational roadmap, he said.
It should be remembered that the educational roadmap is expected to be finalized within five years and to become fully operational in the country’s general educational system.
