Epic

If you are a gamer, or just visit the Cheapskate every now and then you probably know that Epic games give away at least one free game every Thursday. Epic is turning things around a bit for the rest of 2020. Every day through the New Year, Epic offers a different free game. So not only will you have to act fast to get a free game, but it is worth registering frequently. If you play your cards right, you have a chance to rack up 10 more games that you can play in 2021.

Today’s free game is Metro: 2033 Redux, the fourth game in a week to have two points on his title. It is also a single player first person shooter game where you face mutants and other post-apocalyptic horrors as you venture out of the Moscow metro. I guess if you love shooters, mutants, and the apocalypse, that’s all you need to hear. I also guess if you hate shooters, mutants, and the apocalypse, you’ve heard enough too. (Here’s GameSpot’s review if you’re still undecided.) Either way, it’s a $ 20 game that you can snag for free.

I want it? You have until around 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET) Wednesday to claim this game for free, at which point it will be replaced by a new mystery game. If you’re new to Epic’s weekly giveaway, here’s how it works: If you don’t have one yet, sign up for your free Epic account. Then just get your game for free, yours forever. You don’t even need to install it right away if you don’t want it.

By the way, it seems the full list of daily free games has been leaked. According to unaffiliated Twitter user @jovanmunja, the game list for the rest of the year looks like this. Having tweeted it on December 18, the list perfectly matches the releases we’ve seen so far:

One last note: I’m going to do my best to update this article every day with the latest gift, but it’s the holidays folks, and things are crazy around here. If you click on the link to Epic and find that the game is not the one I mentioned here in the article, my apologies from the beginning. But you will still get a chance to get a different free game, and that’s great too. So Enjoy!
