Epic Games account users will no longer be able to use Apple ID when logging into games such as Fortnite and Gears of War.
Epic claims this is because Apple has prohibited users from using Apple IDs to log into any Epic Games account, and the ban will take effect “as soon as September 11, 2020.”
Due to this ban, Epic posted on its website that any Apple ID user will need to update their email addresses and passwords to ensure they can still log in.
If Apple ID users are unable to update their accounts, Epic said users could contact the company to retrieve accounts manually.
Apple’s decision to ban the use of Apple ID for Epic Games accounts is the latest in a trade between the two companies that began when Epic implemented an in-app payment system within Fortnite to avoid paying a commission from the 30% to application markets. such as App Store and Google Play Store.
