CAIRO, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) – Liverpool and Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah tested positive for COVID-19, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) reported Friday.
According to a statement from the EFA, Salah tested positive for the second coronavirus test, noting that doctors from the country’s soccer federation have taken all measures to treat the Egyptian star.
The 28-year-old winger’s first test result was positive, but the EFA decided to run a second test to confirm the infection, according to the statement.
Egyptian doctors are in contact with Liverpool doctors to inform them about developments in Salah’s case, the statement added.
Salah underwent a routine test before the Egyptian team’s first leg with Togo on Saturday in the 2021 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
Except for Salah, the results of the entire staff and the technical and administrative body were negative.
