President of V1 Interactive and Disintegration game designer Marcus Lehto he said in a separate tweet: “At V1, our priority has been the well-being of our employees. We have been transparent with them about the state of affairs for months and we are making this decision now, so they still have enough time to look for new jobs while they have the support of our studio. “
Lehto, who worked as a developer on the previous aura games and credits himself as “co-creator of the aura Universe ”and“ Father of the Master Chief ”- started the study in 2016.
In the summer of 2019, V1 Interactive presented its first game, Disintegration. The game launched in June 2020 to a mixed reception: NMEJason Coles gave the game a two-star rating for its “boring gameplay,” countless tropes, “bugs, and bad AI.”
The game removed its multiplayer support in November, just a few months after the game’s release. V1 Interactive explained at the time: “While our player base showed interest in the single player campaign, the game sadly struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience.”
It is currently unclear what the next moves will be for Marcus Lehto and other developers at V1 Interactive.
