On May 12, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco launched the much-anticipated successor to the Pocophone F1. F1, when it launched, was a punch to the stomach for other smartphone makers. It is a complete flagship phone but it comes with the price of a cheap mid-range phone.
It was well received worldwide not only for its specification, but also because it came with a near stock Android interface. Far from the iPhone-like interface on normal Xiaomi phones.
After two long years, we can finally take a look at the Pocophone F2 Pro.
Do you still have the insignia assassin crown?
Simply put, it still comes with the best line specs you’ll find in something like OnePlus 8 Pro – the latest flagship Snapdragon 865 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Specifications must be powerful enough to support the latest mobile games and multitasking.
The screen reaches some key points, but there are also errors. It has a 6.67-inch Full HD + AMOLED screen and supports HDR10 +. This means that if you are playing or watching a show on Netflix, you will get better blacks and more color clarity, especially on Netflix.
But the softness of the screen is lost, as it only has a 60Hz refresh rate panel, unlike some iconic mid-range phones.
However, I like that it has a fingerprint sensor on the screen.
Camera sensors to adapt to any situation.
Little decided to put as many camera sensors on the F2 Pro as possible. Four cameras to be exact.
It has a 64-megapixel main camera, a 123-degree, 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor that will be used to produce better bokeh effects in your portrait shots.
However, Poco decided to go for a circular camera design for the rear cameras, similar to the Huawei Mate 30. I wish they would choose a traffic light camera design, but I guess this is the new trend we should get used to.
If you are looking for the selfie camera, you won’t find it on the front. Instead, the company decided to go with a pop-up camera, something that might scare some people, but I still think it’s one of the best ways to hide the selfie camera.
It does not block the screen and you can fit a larger sensor.
Large battery capacity with fast charge support.
To allow the phone to keep up with the hardware and its daily use is the fairly large 4,700 mAh battery which should easily provide you with more than a day of use. And if it runs out of battery, the company claims it can charge 100 percent in just over 60 minutes.
However, it doesn’t support wireless charging, which would help keep the price of the phone low.
Will it be as affordable as the Pocophone F1?
Well, it’s safe to say that Poco could have lost his insignia assassin status. The Pocophone F2 Pro comes in two variants, 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage, which will cost around $ 542 and $ 650 respectively.
To give you perspective, the OnePlus 8 costs $ 699, that’s just $ 49 more than the Pocophone F2 Pro, and you’ll get the same kind of display quality with a 90Hz refresh rate panel and higher resolution. .
If you’re really pressed for cash, the Pocophone F2 Pro is an ideal choice. But with a slight difference in price for older kids, you still have options.
On the other hand, we could be seeing a non-Pro version of the phone. And that could be a different story.
