This week, Bungie released a major update for Destiny 2, including changes to rewards, player identity, combat, activities, and more. In the “more” category there are plenty of items for PC gamers, such as NVIDIA cards that add the ability to take advantage of NVIDIA Reflex, “reducing click-to-display latency during gameplay.”
The new set of updates can be found on Bungie’s update page in its entirety. Today we are going to bring out the highlights and elements that you might not have noticed otherwise.
Attitude adjustment
This update changes what Spider has in his inventory for a number of rather specific reasons. Spider will “no longer separate” from Legendary Shards “because” he has become jealous of the large reserves of Legendary Shards that the Guardians have saved. ” According to Bungie, Spider now “lusts” for Legendary Shards, so he won’t have any for you!
Vendor Armor
Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit vendors now “reward a Prime version of their respective ritual engram for completing the weekly challenge.” All armor that comes off these engrams is “high stat armor” as such. Non-Prime versions of the Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit engrams drop world armor until the respective rigorous set of the Prime ritual engram is obtained.
Player identity
Darkness! Both the login screens and full screen menus have dark background styles. This update also includes a change from “Male” and “Female” to “Male” and “Female”. There is a new toggle functionality on the character screen that allows players to choose between the light and dark subclasses, and the player benchmarks now display the season rank and HUD benchmarks.
Mission Notifications
Users will find mission notifications on their HUD. These notifications will appear each time a player acquires a new mission, advances to a new mission step, or completes a mission.
With this new set of quest notifications, users will find a new shortcut to the current season’s triumphs within the Seasonal tab of the quest log.
The light!
A quality of life update includes lighting improvements and better standardization of dark areas. According to Bungie, users will need to “revisit” their brightness settings and “tune them to their liking.” This should make the entire universe look much more coded, from light to dark. Bungie suggested today that “the HDR black point is set to the default medium for best results.”
