‘Destiny 2’ Deep Stone Crypt Raid Passed, Unlocking Multiple New Missions for Beyond Light

Okay man, it’s hard not even to keep track of what’s going on here. It took around six hours, but the Destiny 2 Deep Stone Crypt raid was finally resolved. I believe I was seeing the first thing in the world when it happened, Clawtivity and his team, although Bungie says it probably won’t be until Monday when they can officially announce it to make sure everything is legit.

The foray took us deep into Europe and then, surprisingly, to a huge space station.

And then … backtrack again when the space station crashed into Europe and the final battle took place against a revived version of Taniks, a rather strange final boss, but conceptually incredible raid in every way, one of the best that I’ve seen in Destiny.

There will be plenty of time to go over that later, but first we need to talk about all the things that just got activated.

There is a new scene when you go to Europe that happens at the end of the raid. It is not much, but it is interesting and involves many new mysteries to come.

We have a new mission from Variks, which is a real mission that I haven’t done yet, but I’m about to do it.

We have a new Exo Stranger mission where we have to kill things in new “Eclipsed Zones”. This is a modified version of a current area where debris is falling. I’m not sure what else is different, but right now my map shows me that Eventide Ruins is the area. I’m not sure if this rotates daily. The reward for this current quest is a new weapon from Europe.

Finally, we have the exotic quest for The Lament, the chainsaw sword, from Banshee-44 that has just begun. I had this ruined for me, but let me say it contains some wild science. I’m not sure how many steps there are for the mission itself.

So in short, there are at least three new quest lines to chase as we speak, all triggered by the end of the raid. I don’t know if anything else like a new Crucible map was unlocked, but I haven’t heard of any of that yet. But there are still minutes left after cleaning, so who knows. This is very much in the style of Last Wish with big changes after the raid, and I love all the new things to do.
