The closest anyone has come to figuring out what’s beyond the door so far is Redditor Cosmic-Vagabond, who posted a photo they managed to snag using the game’s camera and photo mode. But all the image reveals is an object floating above the corpse of a gentleman on a secluded terrace, and little else. Players have exhausted every available option so far to unlock the door, but nothing seems to work, which is starting to fuel speculation that the location could be opened in a future expansion or DLC.
Because the new version was intended to be as true to the original as possible, it is unlikely that the item behind the door was something that already existed in the original and would have had to be moved. Also, the remake has already been confirmed to contain new elements, which means it’s likely something no one has seen before.
