Dell’s XPS 13 Family Gets a Big Performance Upgrade with Intel’s 11th Gen Chips

It’s that time of year again. Intel announces new processors and notebook manufacturers are quickly following suit with a host of updates for their respective lines. Dell today announced an update to its XPS 13 line that includes Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake processors.

The 11th generation chips offer better performance per watt than their predecessors, which translates to faster computing or longer battery life for the same performance.

The i5 and i7 configurations use the new Intel Xe graphics, which is already proving to be a dramatic improvement over previous Intel integrated graphics. It’s a jump enough to beat some low-end dedicated cards and catch up with AMD’s recent dominance in that regard. I’ll refer you to the AnandTech benchmarks to learn more about it.
