If there was one app that was massively successful this year, then it has to be TikTok. The Bytedance-owned company experienced a record first quarter and recently surpassed 2.6 billion installs worldwide on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Additionally, it also saw the highest percentage of positive reviews among US users.
These and some more revelations were made by Sensor Tower in their recent review.
In its analysis, Sensor Tower analyzed the reviews left by users on the App Store this year. As of December 14, TikTok saw more than 278,000 reviews written on the app stores. Of these, the majority were five- and four-star reviews, while only 27K were one- and two-star ratings.
After TikTok, the game Among Us garnered the second highest proportion of positive reviews with 67% four- and five-star reviews.
Third place went to Disney + with 58% four- and five-star reviews.
About twenty apps out of the top 100 saw their average rating improve this year. Some of the apps that saw ratings improvements include TikTok, Snapchat, Google Duo, Hangouts, YouTube, and Coin Master.
Gaming apps have also seen a surge in interest, thanks to the ongoing pandemic. But let’s see how things change in early January. Stay tuned with us for more information about it!
