Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has expressed confidence that the game will be ready for its release date on November 19.
In a recent finance conference call, President Adam Kiciński said the studio is “very close” to completing development and has begun “preparing for final certification.” Kiciński added that while the team will work on the title “until the end”, this is normal procedure for such a great game and “everything is on the right track and we are planning to release it on November 19.”
In another slightly more accessible financial update, the developer’s CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said the game “has now entered its final stretch of development, marked by very intense work.”
Perhaps not especially surprising that CD Projekt Red wants to assure fans that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed until November 19; The game has already been subject to two delays and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has helped bring down other highly anticipated titles, like Halo Infinite of course.
In his video update, Nielubowicz noted that the majority of the studio has been working from home for six months and will likely continue to do so until December, after the Cyberpunk 2077 release date. However, although remote work has raised ” various challenges “for the team, he said they are” facing. “
Same date, same price
In the more detailed conference call, CD Projekt Red Vice President of Business Development Michal Nowakowski also addressed the price of the game. In response to a question mentioning that other publishers are charging premium prices for next-gen titles, Nowakowski stated that CD Projekt Red will not change any prices for Cyberpunk 2077: “We already announced, a while ago, pre-orders for our game in the United States. It’s going to $ 59.99 and we don’t plan on changing that price at the last minute. “
While Cyberpunk 2077’s November release date is fast approaching, we can still expect to see and hear more about the game in the near future. It was mentioned in the financial update that there are “a few more” Night City Wire broadcasts yet to come, with the next one expected in late September.
It’s currently unknown what else we’ll find out about Cyberpunk 2077 in these upcoming streams, but Kiciński did at least note during the call that we can expect more information to be revealed about the game’s post-launch plans “pretty soon.”
Outside of Cyberpunk 2077, in their financial updates, CD Projekt Red also mentioned the continued success of The Witcher 3 which, like Cyberpunk 2077, will receive its own next-gen update for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
