Conor McGregor sent an elegant message to Ronaldo Souza after the Brazilian’s withdrawal from UFC 249. The middleweight veteran’s showdown with Uriah Hall was canceled on Saturday morning after it emerged he tested positive for COVID-19.
Souza informed the UFC on Wednesday that he had come into contact with a sick relative and was placed in solitary confinement.
Her swab test was positive for the coronavirus on Friday, prompting the promotion to scratch her confrontation with Hall.
The phenomenon of fighting received a lot of good wishes once news of his diagnosis was released.
And hours before UFC 249 started, McGregor joined that list by texting him on Twitter.
He tweeted, “Prayers for Jacare Souza and his team to make a full recovery.”
McGregor continued his elegant message by wishing his comrades in combat to compete on the Sunday morning card.
He said, “I wish all my fighting colleagues good health as they host tonight’s show! # UFC249 on ESPN +.
“Good luck and God accelerate men and women. From competitors to cleaners. Thank you all.”
UFC 249 will be the first letter of the promotion since the coronavirus outbreak forced the entire sports world to close.
The card will be capped by an interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.
A men’s bantamweight title fight between former champion Dominick Cruz and current division ruler Henry Cejudo.
