Conor McGregor is awaiting the results of the ‘key physical tests’ and ‘examination of the film evidence’ before learning if he will be re-arrested for alleged sexual assault and indecent exposure.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star was taken into police custody on the French holiday island of Corsica last Friday following a complaint from a young woman.
She has claimed the 32-year-old Irishman assaulted her and showed his manhood after a drinking session in the upscale port city of Calvi on September 6.
McGregor was released Saturday without charge, but the criminal case is still active and could be subpoenaed before a magistrate later this week.

“Key physical tests were conducted on the suspect, but the results will not be known until after the weekend,” an investigating source said Sunday.
“These tests are routine in nature after incidents like this, but they take time to make sure there is no question about it.
It is also possible that the incident you are complaining about was filmed. It took place in a very crowded place, where there are fixed cameras everywhere.
“Many tourists would also have been filming and taking photos with their phones, so they also need to be spoken to.”
Alcohol and drug tests are common when suspects are arrested by the police in France, especially after assault charges.
Upper Corsica, the area in which Calvi is located, is also a coronavirus red zone where cases are increasing.

McGregor shared several photos of himself preparing for the 180km journey on social media.
Formal accusations were made against McGregor to police last Thursday, by an as-yet-unidentified whistleblower, believed to be the female victim.
This led police to raid McGregor’s £ 3 million yacht, which was named locally as the ‘Dave Ocean’, the following day.
McGregor headed to the local Tramariccia Gendarmerie by bicycle on Friday, surrounded by bodyguards, and was later questioned by an investigating judge and judicial police.
“The suspect was arrested and taken into custody by the judicial authorities,” said a spokesman for the Bastia prosecutor. He was released on Saturday.
There was a complaint that pointed to “sexual assault and indecent exposure,” the spokesman said.
The French police can detain a suspect for an initial period of 48 hours before having to request an extension of custody, charge him or release him.
In this case, McGregor was released, but the case has not been closed and there may be further action, the spokesperson confirmed.
Emmanuelle Ramon, McGregor’s attorney, said her client “strongly denied any wrongdoing.”
“He has been released before the legal end of police custody and without any judicial review,” Ramón said.
Audie Attar, McGregor’s manager, said in a statement: “I am furious and issue a strong and clear warning: Conor McGregor is not and will not be a target for those looking to land a headline or payday.”
McGregor was staying on his yacht in Corsica with his girlfriend, Dee Devlin, and their two children.

McGregor had posted photos of the drug testing team on his social media accounts.
Since his brush with the law, he has been seen running around Calvi.
McGregor had been preparing to take part in a 180-kilometer, 24-hour charity water bike race from Calvi to Monaco.
Princess Charlene of Monaco reportedly stood by him to help promote safety on the water, but McGregor has now been forced to withdraw.
