(MENAFN) The US embassy in Asmara said on Sunday that more than six explosions hit the Eritrean capital Asmara on Saturday night.

The embassy said in a statement that “around 10:30 pm on November 28, there were six explosions in Asmara.”

The statement further included: “The embassy again advises all US citizens in Eritrea to continue to be cautious, stay home (when not at work), take only essential travel, and stay abreast of the ongoing conflict situation. in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. US citizens who are not in the country should avoid traveling to Eritrea. “

The US embassy did not comment on the reason for the six explosions. Nor did it detail any destruction that may have been caused by the explosions.
